Consumer fireworks are restricted in Oregon. Only certain ground-based devices are legal (fountains, sparklers). Aerial fireworks are banned.
📅 WHEN CAN YOU USE FIREWORKS?
Jun 23 – Jul 6 (retail sale period; use of legal retail fireworks)
No state time limit; local jurisdictions may restrict
Oregon is very restrictive. Most consumer fireworks are banned — only ground-based 'retail fireworks' (fountains, sparklers, ground spinners, etc.) are legal without a permit. These can be purchased Jun 23–Jul 6 and used where not locally prohibited. Fireworks that fly, explode, or travel unpredictably require a 'limited fireworks display permit' from the State Fire Marshal. Local jurisdictions may further restrict or ban even legal fireworks. Prohibited on all Oregon state beaches, state parks, campgrounds, and state/federal forest lands (ORS § 480.160).
